A Visual Symphony, Matangi

Project Background

Blending themes from boho to modern chic, this residence, built by Symphony Construction is the epitome of elegance, comfort and homeliness. Nestled in the picturesque area of Matangi, this rural property captivates from the moment you step onto the grounds—it’s like entering an entirely different world. It’s no surprise that this home earned a Gold Award at the 2024 Master Builders House of the Year Awards. Their victory in the Regional Category for New Home $750,000 – $1 million adds an extra layer of recognition, showcasing the passion and dedication invested in its creation. Central to its design and functionality are the windows and doors supplied by NZWindows, which were instrumental in bringing Data Plan architects’ vision to life.

Design and Execution

The home’s design revolves around the principles of open space, natural light, and a strong connection to its lush green surroundings. NZWindows was chosen for its extensive product range, known for durability, energy efficiency, and sleek design.

Residential Series Sliding Doors

The inviting open-plan living area has three sets of NZWindows sliding doors that usher in light and create an uninterrupted flow between the interior and the outdoors. These doors not only allow for an abundance of natural light to flood the space but also provide expansive views of the rural landscape, enhancing the home’s connection to nature.

Floor-to-Ceiling Windows

The main suite of this home is a sanctuary of luxury and tranquility. NZWindows contributed to this atmosphere by supplying a floor-to-ceiling window in the ensuite bathroom. This large window offers views of the garden, turning the bathroom into a serene environment where homeowners can unwind in the comfort of natural light and the beauty of the outdoors. The strategic placement of this window maximises light while ensuring privacy, demonstrating NZWindows’ commitment to both design and functionality.

Bifold Door

At the heart of the home, a sleek bifold door serves as a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor living spaces, enhancing both the flow and continuity throughout the home. With specially engineered hardware it enables the doors to stack back to one or both ends, creating one wide opening. When fully opened, this door reveals a spacious 85sqm deck area designed to function as a natural extension of the living room, offering a versatile space for dining, relaxing, or hosting guests.

Plasma Door

The entry door is often the first impression of a home, and at this Matangi residence, NZWindows Plasma Entry Door in Matt Black serves as a bold focal point that is both welcoming and sophisticated. It draws the eye and creates a visually striking contrast against the natural materials used for the entrance ways exterior cladding. The shiplap cedar, with its warm, organic textures, is beautifully offset by the bold Plasma door. The door’s sleek, modern appearance perfectly complements the overall design theme, with the contrast reinforcing the home’s modern chic aesthetic.

Outcome

This Matangi home stands as a prime example of how NZWindows’ products can elevate a build from ordinary to extraordinary. The home’s award-winning status is a testament to the successful collaboration between the architect, builder, subcontractors and NZWindows. NZWindows is proud to have played a role in creating a forever home that will be deeply cherished by its residents for years to come.
