Celebrating People and Passion: How NZWindows Fuels Grassroots Sports and Community Success

At NZWindows, we believe our greatest asset is our people. The success of our company is built on the dedication, talent, and passion of our employees. That’s why we prioritise their well-being and support their passions beyond the workplace. As long-time supporters of grassroots sports, we proudly sponsor numerous athletes, sports teams, community events, and organisations across New Zealand. We have been fortunate to make a positive impact within our local communities and as we edge closer to summer, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a few of the many incredible achievements we’ve helped make possible.

Bay Boardriders

Back-to-back champions! Massive congratulations to Bay Boardriders for dominating the Hurley_anz Surfing NZ 2024 Boardriders National Club Champions! In the pumping waves of Whangamata, Aotearoa’s top boardrider clubs battled it out. Fuelled by a determination to defend their 2023 title, the NZWindows-backed Bay Boardriders crew surfed incredibly, clinching the top spot for the second year in a row.

Their victory secures them the opportunity to represent New Zealand on the global stage at the Usher Cup in Australia in early 2025. NZWindows proudly stands behind the team as they gear up to take on the world’s best next year on the Gold Coast.

Mauao Surf Academy

A huge congratulations to the NZWindows-sponsored Mauao Surf Academy for their outstanding performance at the NZ Surfing School Festival.

The Mauao Surf Academy girls’ team proudly secured the Cranch Cup, while the boys’ team demonstrated remarkable skill, earning a fantastic second place in the tournament!

BOP Manufacturing Team Basketball

Our sponsored basketball team gave their all in a challenging semifinal game, ultimately falling short in their quest to take out the top spot. NZWindows takes pride in backing such dedicated individuals who embody teamwork and determination, whether on the job or the court. Congratulations to the team!

Greerton Marist Rugby Club – Premier & Development

For over 15 years, NZWindows has proudly sponsored the Greerton Marist Rugby Club, with many of our players also being part of the teams over the years. As the season wrapped up in late July, we were thrilled to see both the Premier and Development teams battle it out for the top spots in the Baywide finals. A special shoutout to our very own BOP Branch Manager, Andrew Hill, who celebrated his milestone 100th premier game during the finals. Although they didn’t secure the win this time, the future looks promising, and we’ll be proudly wearing our colours and cheering from the sidelines in the 2025 season.

Shooters Rugby

The NZWindows-sponsored Shooters are once again proving themselves formidable opponents. From the start, the Shooters set a high standard for themselves, achieving impressive scores thanks to solid teamwork, dedicated training, and extra preparation guided by Coach and NZWindows Sales Rep, Troy. A message from Shooters:

“The College Rifles U13 Shooters played their final Auckland Junior Rugby season game on 31st August, in the most atrocious stormy weather, beating Grammar Lions to maintain their stellar undefeated record, not just for 2024 but for their entire junior rugby career.

Mercury Bay Squash Club

This year Mercury Bay Squash Club used the NZWindows sponsorship money to go towards prizes and an annual dinner for their Club Champs. Club Champs is split into divisions for ladies and men from beginners at F grade up to A grade. There is also an overall ladies Club champ and an overall men’s club champ plus junior champions for both boys and girls (under 19). This year’s winners:
  • Overall Ladies Champion – Jody Costello
  • Overall Men’s Champ – Mark Jones
  • Junior Girls Champion- Charlotte Thurgood
  • Junior Boys Champion – Le Sueur Van De Byl
The club currently has 56 members and is very busy for a small club! They run two successful business house competitions annually, a monthly league and have an active ladies C grade team who won the Waikato Autumn interclub round and came runners-up in the winter one. MBSQ also came runners-up in the Waikato Super Champs competition which they won last year and went on to nationals in Timaru. They run a weekly beginner lady’s session and have had success with some junior sessions this year (the first time they’ve been able to hold some). One of their juniors (Charlotte Thurgood) has progressed from a beginner to C1 in just two seasons and was only one of a few under 13s nationally to be chosen to attend national training camps this year led by NZ National Performance Coach, Jonathon Kemp. The club is hoping she has a great future in squash and will inspire other local juniors to get involved.
A small band of volunteers make up the committee and they work hard to promote squash locally and get people involved. Their emphasis is on having fun and giving it a go!

Raglan Football Club

NZWindows Manufacturing has recently become a proud supporter of the Raglan Football Club, offering vital backing to help the local sports community thrive. This sponsorship specifically benefits the club’s junior teams, helping to provide essential resources such as new kits, balls, and other equipment. This partnership reflects NZWindows commitment to fostering youth sports and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle within the Raglan community.

We are so pleased to be funding such a range of incredible clubs and organisations, making a difference in our community and throughout the year. To see all of NZWindows’ sponsorships, visit our Sponsors Page
