NZWindows Koromiko Street Awarded Platinum for Sustainable Practices

At NZWindows, we recently announced our Bay of Plenty manufacturing site reached stage 5 in the Resource Wise Programme, achieving the prestigious Green Award. A few months on, we are delighted to announce that our Tauranga branch (Koromiko Street) has been awarded Platinum!

Last year, NZWindows embarked on a journey towards a more sustainable future by joining Tauranga City Council’s 5-year Resource Wise Programme. Under the guidance of our dedicated Sustainability Manager, Tash, we aimed to deepen our understanding of our environmental footprint. An annual waste audit conducted at our Bay of Plenty branches provided valuable insights into the composition of our landfill waste, helping us identify opportunities for improvement.

Koromiko Street started at the bronze level and we’re now celebrating a significant milestone in our commitment to a greener future. We’re excited to announce that our Tauranga branch has achieved Stage 4 in the programme and has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Award! While we recognise there’s still a lot to do, we’re excited about our progress.

Our Koromiko Street Wasters Committee meets monthly to discuss our sustainability initiatives, brainstorm new ideas, and share our results with the team. This award is a testament to their hard work and commitment to making NZWindows more sustainable. We couldn’t have achieved this milestone without them. Thanks to Tash, Terence, AJ, Bayley, Rich, Steph, Andrew, and Dan for their contributions!
