NZWindows Proudly Supports Junior Black Fin Trelise Chote
We’re excited to be supporting Trelise Chote from Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club as she gets ready to compete on the international stage.
Earlier this year, Trelise was selected to represent New Zealand as a Junior Black Fin, a big moment in her involvement with Surf Life Saving New Zealand. Her selection reflects the hard work and commitment she’s put in over the years.
“When I found out I was selected, I felt my dream come true. So many thoughts ran through my head, but the smile on my face couldn’t be wiped away. From processing what I had just read, to realising what I had just achieved, this was my big moment, the next chapter into this sport.”

From Yellow Rashie to Black Cap
Trelise got involved in surf life saving when she was just five years old, spending time on the beach in her bright yellow rashie and boogie board, looking up to the older athletes.
“At this young age I was constantly looking up to the senior squad, waiting for my chance to be like them.”
She has grown through the club environment at Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club, being part of the club has given her more than just training. It’s where she’s built strong friendships, gained confidence, and had solid backing every step of the way.

Representing New Zealand as a Junior Black Fin
In 2025, Trelise will compete at two key international events:
- Battle of the Tasman – August, Gold Coast
She’ll race as part of the NZ Pathway Grey Team.
- International Surf Rescue Challenge (ISRC) – November, Mount Maunganui
Racing at home, Trelise will compete against top international athletes as a Junior Black Fin.
“My first ever international competition under the black cap, and boy does it feel good to travel with NZ and make my debut against some of the greatest athletes surf lifesaving has ever seen. Being on home ground in Mount Maunganui, with the support of friends and family, is going to be truly special.”
