Saddle House

Wallace Architects and Mathew Palmer Constructions have created this spacious new home, perfectly positioned on a gently sloping site with stunning views of the harbour and ocean.

A standout feature of this home is the sliding stacker door that opens up to the breathtaking view. This door not only allows for seamless indoor-outdoor living but also floods the interior with natural light, enhancing the spacious feel of the home. When fully opened, it provides an unobstructed panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, effectively merging the indoor and outdoor spaces.

The NZWindows Solux-E glass used throughout the house offers excellent thermal performance, ensuring the home remains comfortable year-round. These windows and doors are designed to reduce heat loss in winter and minimise heat gain in summer, contributing to the home’s energy efficiency. Additionally, the glass provides superior UV protection, helping to preserve the interior furnishings from sun damage.

The house is centered on the hill’s saddle, offering an expansive focal point of the West Coast Ocean as one moves through the residence. Each room in the house benefits from strategically placed windows, ensuring every space is bright and airy.
